Tom Crawford will retire at the end of the year as chief executive officer at USA Ultimate after 15 years, marking the end of one of the longest tenures in modern national governing body leadership.
Prior to joining USA Ultimate in 2009, Crawford worked for the United States Olympic Committee as managing director of high performance programs and as director of coaching.
“The board is thankful to Dr. Crawford, who has led us with intelligence and integrity,” said Dave Klink, USA Ultimate board president. “We have big shoes to fill, but Tom is leaving the organization in great shape. I am excited for us to find a dynamic and growth-oriented CEO who is able to collaborate with strategic partners and our members to help take ultimate to the next level.”
USA Ultimate is the national governing body for the sport in the United States and a member of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. It hosts several major events annually for youth, college, elite and masters divisions, as well as the U.S. Open and the Triple Crown Tour consisting of men’s, women’s and mixed-gender divisions. USA Ultimate is also a member of the World Flying Disc Federation.
USA Ultimate has partnered with TeamWork Consulting to lead the organization’s search for its next chief executive officer.
