USA Taekwondo was named Member National Association of the Year at the World Taekwondo Gala in Hong Kong, the latest in a string of achievements for the national governing body.
USA Taekwondo won Best MNA Award from the Pan American Taekwondo Union and continued with key milestones including recertification by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and receiving the Best MNA in Governance Award from World Taekwondo earlier this year.
“This honor is the culmination of an incredible year for USA Taekwondo,” said Steve McNally, USATKD chief executive officer. “It is a testament to the incredible hard work of our staff, athletes, coaches, Board and community and we are so proud to be recognized as the best taekwondo organization in the world.”
USA Taekwondo had one medalist at the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris as Kristina Teachout won bronze in the women’s -67kg division. CJ Nickolas lost in the men’s -80kg bronze medal match.
“These awards are validation of the direction we have taken and the work we have done to make athletes safe and successful,” McNally continued. “USATKD is now an organization that its members and the wider Olympic family can be rightly proud of. … With LA on the horizon, even better days are ahead if we all work together.”
