USA Baseball has announced that it will host its National Team Championships at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida, and the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana from 2014–2016. The Palm Beach County venues will host more than 100 teams consisting of more than 1,600 athletes from across the nation who are expected to contend for championships in the 14U, 15U, and 17U age groups.
The event also serves as the East National Team Championship, which takes place simultaneously with USA Baseball’s West National Team Championship in Arizona.
“USA Baseball is excited to continue its relationship with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission for three more years,” said Paul Seiler, USA Baseball’s executive director/CEO. “Palm Beach County has proved to be a great venue for the athletes that compete in our National Team Championships.”
USA Baseball will conduct its National Team Championships over two weeks in 2014. The 14U and 17U tournament will take place on June 17–25, while the 15U tournament is scheduled for July 11–19. More than 350 baseball games will take place at Roger Dean Stadium and the Santaluces Athletic Complex during the two-week stretch. The event will mark the first time that USA Baseball has hosted the National Team Championships for all of its age groups in Palm Beach County.
The two weeks of baseball games are expected to generate more than 4,500 hotel room nights and $2.5 million in direct visitor spending.
