Tim Miller Joins Sports Tourism & Entertainment Authority in Pulaski
Former ASM Global exec to lead new division focused on sports in Virginia
Posted On: January 21, 2025 By :The County of Pulaski, Virginia, has named Tim Miller as the director of the newly created Sports Tourism & Entertainment Authority.
Miller was formerly director of sales and marketing for ASM Global in Richmond, Virginia. Before that, he was chief operating officer for RPM Events Group, LLC, and served as vice president of operations for the National Cycling League. Miller will oversee the county’s sports tourism and entertainment assets and venues, as well as planning, developing and implementing strategies for sports tourism throughout the community.
“From the very first visit I made to Pulaski County I sensed something special was happening here,” Miller said. “The commitment and support from the Board of Supervisors, the STEA and county leadership, combined with the existing facilities, future plans and natural assets, make it an ideal place for sports tourism and entertainment programming to benefit both the local citizens and visitors.”
Virginia is ranked 10th in the nation for sports sector visitor spending, primarily driven by drawing youth, amateur, and collegiate events and tournaments. Sports tourism currently accounts for eight percent of all visitor spending in Virginia.
