Sports ETA has announced Christina Velasquez as the organization’s new director of education and research.
Velasquez joins Sports ETA with nearly a decade of experience in professional education and research roles. She previously served as the director of education at the American Academy of Optometry.
“Christina’s exceptional experience and passion for professional development make her a tremendous asset to Sports ETA,” said John David, president and chief executive officer of Sports ETA. “Her vision for elevating education and research aligns perfectly with our mission to empower sports events and tourism professionals. We are confident her leadership will inspire innovation and drive our industry forward.”
Velasquez will oversee the development and delivery of educational content, certification programs, and industry research. She will lead initiatives such as the Sports Tourism Learning Institute, Sports Tourism Research Institute, Sports Tourism Strategist certification program and the creation of resources that provide members insights into industry trends and best practices. Velasquez will also collaborate closely with members and partners to deliver programming at Sports ETA events.
