The Federación Mexicana de Fútbol and Soccer United Marketing have announced that Mexico will open the 22nd annual MexTour on June 7 against Switzerland at Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium on the campus of the University of Utah.

The match will mark the tour’s second visit to Utah and first at the 51,000-seat venue. Switzerland is top 10 among UEFA nations in the FIFA rankings. The Swiss hold a 4-1-1 all-time record against Mexico, with the last contest coming in 1994 in Oakland, California.

Mexico will then play Euro 2024 quarterfinalist Turkey for the first time in its history on June 10. The match will take place at the 50,000-seat Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, home of UNC’s football program. It will be Mexico’s first game in the city and the venue’s first national team international match.

Each tour stop features the Futbol Fiesta fan fest, as well as fan and media events throughout the markets. The MexTour allows the team to prepare for competitions including the Concacaf Gold Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The annual MexTour last year took El Tri to Chicago, Denver and College Station, Texas, before going to Pasadena, California, and Arlington, Texas.
