The Los Angeles Chargers will be the home team when the National Football League plays its second regular-season game ever in Brazil, returning to São Paulo and Corinthians Arena on the opening week of the 2025 season.
Corinthians Arena hosted the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in South America in 2024 when the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Green Bay Packers 34–29 on September 6. The Chargers have played in three regular season games internationally, including in London twice and Mexico City once. The Chargers’ opponent, along with kickoff time, will be announced when the full 2025 NFL schedule is revealed this spring.
“It’s an honor to once again represent the NFL on an international stage,” said A.G. Spanos, Chargers president of business operations. “It’s also a tremendous opportunity to help grow the game and bring the Chargers brand to millions of sports fans across Brazil and Latin America.”
With more than 36 million fans of the game, Brazil is the NFL’s second largest international fan base after Mexico.
“After a successful and memorable first game in Brazil in 2024, we are delighted to confirm the league’s return to São Paulo with the Los Angeles Chargers as the designated team in what will be an incredible next chapter in the market,” said NFL Brazil General Manager Luis Martinez.
This is the seventh international game the league has announced so far for the 2025 season, continuing its worldwide expansion. The New York Jets, Cleveland Browns and Jacksonville Jaguars will play in London this year, while the Indianapolis Colts are the designated team for a game in Berlin and the Miami Dolphins will play in Madrid. The first-ever NFL regular season game in Dublin will feature the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The NFL recently announced its first international game for the 2026 regular season, which will be hosted in Melbourne featuring the Los Angeles Rams.
