The US Open Team Table Tennis Championships will take place August 29–31, 2025, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the first time the tournament has been held in nearly three decades.
“The US Open Team Championships has a special place in the history of table tennis in America and we are incredibly excited to bring this iconic event back to life,” said Virginia Sung, chief executive officer of USA Table Tennis. “Myrtle Beach, with its world-class facilities and vibrant atmosphere, will set the stage for an unforgettable competition that embodies the spirit of teamwork and excellence.”
The team championships last took place in Detroit in 1997. The 2025 event will take place at John T. Rhodes Myrtle Beach Sports Center over Labor Day weekend.
“Visit Myrtle Beach is excited to host USA Table Tennis,” said Taylor Sellers, senior sports development manager for Visit Myrtle Beach. “We know athletes and fans will enjoy all Myrtle Beach has to offer with a world-class facility, beautiful weather, great food, and wonderful attractions. A huge thanks to our partners at the John T. Rhodes Myrtle Beach Sports Center for working with us to bring this event to the beach.”
The venue features a 5-star facility with all courts equipped with rubber flooring on top of wood, ensuring the highest playing standards, according to Vlad Farcas, event coordinator for USATT.
“Myrtle Beach is the perfect place for a team tournament,” Farcas said. “Beyond the tournament, players and their families can enjoy countless activities near the venue, from stunning beaches to fantastic dining and entertainment options. Combine that with amazing beach weather over Labor Day Weekend, and you have all the ingredients for a phenomenal event.”
