Men’s College World Series Celebrates its 75th Anniversary
City of Omaha has activations planned leading up to the MCWS in June
Posted On: February 13, 2025 By :The College World Series of Omaha, Inc. has announced a celebration of its 75th Anniversary, honoring decades of baseball moments with a lineup of events and activations around the city before the June 13 start of this year’s event.
A dedicated anniversary website will serve as a central hub for all event details, historical retrospectives and exclusive content. Visitors can explore an interactive timeline, view fan-submitted memories and discover behind-the-scenes insights. The organization also unveiled a 75th anniversary logo.
“As we celebrate this diamond anniversary, we’re thrilled to continue the tradition of welcoming players, coaches, and fans to Omaha,” said Jack Diesing, Jr., chairman and president of College World Series of Omaha, Inc. “For 75 years, the Men’s College World Series has been synonymous with Omaha and we’re committed to building on that legacy for generations to come.”
A traveling sculpture commemorating the 75th Anniversary will tour various community events. The interactive exhibit will also feature a replica of the national championship trophy. The city will place celebratory MCWS decals in key locations beginning in May, including local landmarks and gathering spots.
The 75th at the RiverFront will provide a free event at the Omaha riverfront featuring live music, activities and a fireworks display. This year, the University of Nebraska at Omaha will join Creighton University as co-hosts of the Men’s College World Series for the first time.
“For 75 years, Creighton University has been instrumental in the success of the Men’s College World Series,” said Anthony Holman, the NCAA’s vice president of championships. “We’re excited to celebrate this historic anniversary and welcome UNO as a co-host, continuing to elevate the championship experience.”
