The Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks have been added to the growing roster of games set to be featured in the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series. The two NHL teams are scheduled to play the first hockey game in Dodger Stadium history when they square off next season on January 25, 2014.
In addition to the Bridgestone 2014 NHL Winter Classic—a game between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs scheduled to be held at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on January 1, 2014—the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series will feature several outdoor games in the 2013–2014 season, including a recently announced matchup at Chicago’s Soldier Field on March 1, 2014, between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
“Our fans and our teams love outdoor games and we are thrilled the 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series will present a number of these experiences to a large number of our fans in a variety of National Hockey League markets,” Commissioner Gary Bettman said.
The NHL has said it intends to announce more games for the 2014 Coors Light Stadium Series in the coming weeks.
