Kansas City will host a professional softball series in June featuring the Florida Vibe, New York Rise and Kansas City Diamonds to run concurrently with the Top Gun Invitational, a softball tournament that brings over 300 teams to Kansas City.
The series will take place June 11–13 with six games in a round-robin tournament. The event will include a home run derby, player opportunities like autograph and photo sessions and clinics hosted by the professional teams.
The Florida Vibe, of Bradenton, is entering its fourth year of play. The team is led by coach Leah Amica, a former outfielder for Team USA who won gold medals at the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympic Games
“The Florida Vibe is thrilled with the opportunity to visit and compete in Kansas City this summer at the annual iconic Top Gun Invitational, while growing the Vibe brand and showcasing its players in a new vibrant market,” said Ryan Moore, owner of the Florida Vibe. “This is truly historic for us and we’re looking forward to a strong future with Top Gun Events and its affiliates.”
The New York Rise, based in Long Island, is led by former MLB player Rodney McCray. The Kansas City Diamonds roster will be comprised of collegiate juniors and seniors.
“We’re proud to bring together the Florida Vibe, New York Rise and some of the best collegiate players in the country for this series,” said Jeremy McDowell, Top Gun Events chief executive officer. “This event isn’t just to showcase talent — it’s to inspire the next generation of players and fans.”
