DreamHack will come to the West Coast for the first time in 2020 as the esports festival announced Anaheim, California, will host the event February 21–23. The event’s activities will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The gaming lifestyle festival will include professional esports tournaments, a bring your own computer (BYOC) LAN party, a cosplay championship, educational panels, art, activities, an expo, screenings and live music. Tickets will go on sale September 20, 2019.
“I cannot express our excitement at bringing DreamHack to the great city of Anaheim for our first-ever West Coast festival weekend—especially because it comes on the heels of our 25th-anniversary celebration,” said DreamHack Co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. “This debut event in Anaheim will be a not-to-be-missed experience for fans of esports and all things gaming.”
The complete 2020 DreamHack schedule will be announced in December. In 2019, the organization held events in Rio de Janeiro, Dallas and Rotterdam, Netherlands.
“We are thrilled to be bringing DreamHack to the West Coast for the first time in the history of the event,” said Roy Edmondson, Visit Anaheim’s vice president of sports development. “Events like DreamHack are perfect for Anaheim as we have the largest convention center on the West Coast. This is a great addition to our portfolio of clients.”
