Corpus Christi Athletic Club Opens Pickleball Facility

Includes eight indoor courts, locker rooms and observation area

Corpus Christi Athletic Club in Texas held the grand opening ceremony for its new pickleball complex on January 10.

In addition to eight indoor courts, the 20,000 square foot facility includes blacklight on the courts for glow-in-the-dark pickleball play, men’s and women’s locker rooms plus an outdoor seating area with fire pits.

“The Susser Family traces its roots in Corpus Christi back 170 years and considers it an honor to be able to continue to reinvest back into our community with this major expansion of the Corpus Christi Athletic Club,” said Sam Susser, chief executive officer, Corpus Christi Athletic Club. “Our new tournament pickleball facility has eight courts, a viewing area and other amenities that will enhance the experience of our members.”

Courts are open to members and non-members, with members receiving reservation priority. CCAC also opened a new 7,000 square foot area with premium fitness equipment. The space includes 10 bench stations with barbells, plates and kettlebells.

“As pickleball continues to gain popularity, it’s the perfect sport for all ages and fitness levels to enjoy,” said Tom Deimler, general manager, Corpus Christi Athletic Club. “It’s the perfect addition for both seasoned athletes and beginners looking for a low-impact, high-energy sport. We can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the game.”
