The bureau will work to raise awareness of the area as a destination for events and attract new business to our area. It will advocate for the development of new sports facilities as well as improvements to existing ones; promote existing sporting events; and continue building programs like the Bellingham Athlete Ambassador program, which sponsors local athletes who travel to destination races and compete locally.

The Diamond Head Classic, sponsored by Hawaiian Airlines and traditionally held during the December holiday period, will be rescheduled starting in 2025 to late November around the Thanksgiving holiday with a women’s tournament added to the schedule.
