Atlantic City, New Jersey, has been selected to host a Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series event in 2022, which will include a half-marathon and 5K. The races will be staged along parts of the city, including the Atlantic City Boardwalk, May 14–15.
“We are excited to finally have the chance to add Atlantic City into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series,” said Elizabeth O’Brien, managing director for North America at The Ironman Group, owners of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series. “After a long wait, we are proud that we can be a part of showcasing and highlighting what Atlantic City has to offer the thousands of runners, walkers and active lifestyle enthusiasts as well as their support crews who travel to the area. This new event will feature the beach on one side and a party on the other, making the Atlantic City Boardwalk the perfect venue for the newest Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series event. We can’t wait to see participants hit the streets of Atlantic City this coming May.”
Participants will be able to take on the “Remix Challenge,” which includes running both races to earn the Remix Challenge medal in addition to each race’s finisher medals.
Race week will begin on May 13 with a Health and Fitness Expo open to the public, featuring the latest products and trends in the running industry. The races themselves will start at Bader Field and move through the shore town of Ventnor before finishing along the boardwalk for the final six miles.
Presale registration for the 2022 Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Atlantic City will open on October 28.
