The 2027 United States Bowling Congress Women’s Championship will return to the Charlotte area for the first time in 20 years when New Victory Lanes in Mooresville hosts the national tournament.
The Women’s Championships was hosted in the Charlotte area in 2007. The event typically attracts approximately 16,000 bowlers each year, with competition held daily once the tournament gets underway. New Victory Lanes was the site of the 2019 U.S. Open, won by Canada’s Francois Lavoie.
“We are pleased to have the USBC Women’s Championships return to the Charlotte area in 2027,” said Mike Butts, executive director of Visit Charlotte and vice president of sales for the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority. “Hosting this championship enhances our reputation as a sports mecca that attracts nearly every team and individual sport. We will continue working closely with USBC as they plan a championship that will positively impact Charlotte and our surrounding cities.”
The Women’s Championships will celebrate its 107th edition in 2027. The tournament features bowlers from around the world competing for titles across four divisions. Participants bowl three games each in team, doubles and singles competition. Titles also are up for grabs in all-events and Team All-Events.
“It is with great excitement that we share in the announcement that the USBC Women’s Championships will be held in Mooresville at New Victory Lanes in 2027,” said Randy DuTeau, executive director of Visit Mooresville. “We are honored to partner with our friends at Visit Charlotte, Visit Lake Norman and New Victory Lanes to host this prestigious event. The USBC Women’s Championships will provide a great opportunity for us to show off our area while generating a significant impact on our local economy. We are grateful for the USBC and look forward to providing a wonderful experience for the bowlers, event staff and guests.”
The 2027 event will mark the tournament’s first trek to the South Atlantic since 2007 and first visit to the South since 2017 (Baton Rouge, Louisiana). Both the 2025 and 2026 events will be held at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas.
“We’re proud to bring the Women’s Championships back to the Charlotte area for the first time in 20 years,” USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. “Our partners at the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, Visit Mooresville, Visit Lake Norman and New Victory Lanes will be tremendous hosts for the tournament. We’re excited to join them in welcoming bowlers and crowning champions in 2027.”
