In an interview with Il Messagero, Capello stated that he did not want to get involved in the feud but advised Cassano to be careful with his words. He also mentioned that he knows Mourinho and Cassano well, having coached the latter in the past.
Capello also criticized Cassano for not doing his research before making negative comments about Mourinho’s coaching methods. The former AC Milan coach added that Mourinho spoke highly of Marko Livaja, a player he coached at Inter Milan, and that he could not recall the case that Cassano was referring to.
Regarding Mourinho’s future, Capello expressed doubts about his stay at Roma, where he currently manages. He stated that he did not want Mourinho to think that the Serie A was inferior to other prominent leagues such as the Premier League and La Liga. He commended Mourinho’s past accomplishments with top teams around the world and noted that he still had a lot of years left in his managerial career.
Cassano’s comments about Mourinho began after he criticized the quality of play of AS Roma, a team the Portuguese coach currently manages. The feud has since escalated, with both men making derogatory comments about each other in the media.[/expander_maker]
